Barère first returns to the attempted assassination of Collot-d'Herbois and Robespierre on 4 Prairial: "In the combination of crimes which England pays for in our midst, and which she has carried out through the factions she has enrolled in Paris, what was intended, two days ago, was the assassination of Robespierre and Collot-d'Herbois". Further on, he enumerates the crimes of the English. The work ends with a speech by Robespierre delivered at the sitting of Septidi 7 Prairial, Year II (26 May 1794).
