Father Time Original etching, 1899. Leaf dimensions: 29 x 20.6 cm. Platemark dimensions: 19.9 x 15.1 cm. A very fine impression, fine margins, blind stamp in the lower margin "Studio London". Signed in the plate in the lower corner. An allegory of Time with the attributes of time: globe, hourglass, scythe. William Strang (1859–1921) was a Scottish printmaker. He subsequently spent a large part of his career in London. Renowned for his etchings in the English Symbolist style. His depictions of death are characteristic of his work.
