This updated description by Onésime Reclus includes 25 black maps and 3 folding color maps, as well as numerous engravings illustrating the landscapes and populations of this African region. Élisée Reclus (1830-1905) is a renowned geographer, author of the 19 volumes of the New Universal Geography and Man and the Earth, a precursor of social geography.
