Illuminated manuscript on vellum. 15th century. TE DEUM LAUDAMUS. Dimensions: 22.9 x 16.2 cm. Leaf in an elegant Gothic script in a single column of 17 lines, with visible lead ruling. Numerous initials alternately blue and red heightened with white penwork flourishes, marginal decorative bars in blue and red with gold highlights. Broad three-sided illuminated border composed of foliate scrolls, blue, green, and pink acanthus leaves, flowers, and raised gold berries. Verso also decorated with a border of equal quality. Excellent overall condition. The text is that of the Te Deum laudamus, the famous Latin hymn of praise sung during the greatest solemnities of the Christian liturgy.
