Mortuary Broadside

Mortuary Broadside Typography and Woodcut. 1784. Sheet dimensions: 46.5 x 58.5 cm Woodcut vignette dimensions: 9.9 x 8.6 cm. Mortuary Broadside for the late Mr. Louis-Joseph-Regis Ansart in Arras. The sheet, formerly folded in four, thus shows two longitudinal and transverse folds. It is decorated with woodcuts, depicting bones in the fire and arrows in opposite directions. The main vignette is an initial letter "V" depicting Death seated on a tomb. A minor loss is noted in the left margin. A stain at the top of the fold in the upper margin. Overall in fine condition.
